History

Historical Context

President Jimmy Carter hosted twelve days of secret talks at Camp David, where Egyptian President Anwar Sadat and Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin signed the 17 September 1978 Accords, paving the way for the 1979 Egypt-Israel peace treaty. Backed by 85 % of Israelis, the agreement ignited a sustained evangelical Christian pro-Israel network that the 2026 Friends of Zion summit now mobilizes.
