History

Historical Context

Amazon launched its inaugural Prime Day on July 15, 2015, marking the site’s 20th anniversary and promising more deals than Black Friday. The event spurred a 60 % rise in global orders the following year and inspired rivals such as Walmart to create flash-sale promotions. By 2026, Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days continued the aggressive discount model, offering deep price cuts.
