History

Historical Context

Saudi Arabia launched Operation Decisive Storm on 26 March 2015, leading a nine-nation coalition that soon fielded more than 10,000 troops and dozens of Apache helicopters to restore President Hadi’s government. The air campaign, backed by U.S. intelligence and UAE fighter jets, extended fighting across the Saudi-Yemen border. The 2026 strikes on Abha and Riyadh airports echo that earlier escalation.
