History

Historical Context

After Anca Ionescu was stabbed 62 times in a London flat in 1995, Britain was already grappling with a surge of knife murders—including John Sheppard’s 40-plus stab wounds in December 1994—and a Home Office-recorded 15 % rise in violent crime. The 78-wound killing of Benjamin Day in Worcester echoes that pattern, reviving calls for tighter rental-property security.
