History

Historical Context

On April 20 1999, seniors Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold killed 13 students and a teacher at Columbine High School, prompting the FBI and local sheriffs to create rapid-deployment and threat-assessment protocols. The October 5 2026 shooting of 17-year-old Chris Wilson Jr. in Delaware County revived those reforms, as agencies again revise security measures.
