Police Seek 22-Year-Old Suspect in Scarborough Stabbing After Bail Violation
By Drooid · · How we work
Background of the Crime
In January, police responded to a stabbing and home-invasion incident in the Kennedy Road and Ellesmere Road area of Scarborough. Two male suspects forced entry, assaulted an occupant while demanding cash, and stabbed a second occupant in the stomach before fleeing with money. The incident resulted in two robbery-with-a-weapon charges and one aggravated-assault charge for each suspect.
Arrests and Bail Conditions
Police arrested 32-year-old Francisco Garcia Arroyo on May 4 and charged him with two counts of robbery with a weapon and aggravated assault. The second suspect, 22-year-old Ricardo Romero Gonzales (also reported as Ricardo Gonzales Romero), was arrested on July 16, 2026 and faced the same charges. Both men were released on bail with the condition that they wear ankle monitoring devices.
Alleged Bail Violation and Current Search
Police say they were notified in mid-September that Gonzales may have removed his ankle monitor. A few days later he failed to appear at a scheduled court appearance. As a result, he is now wanted for failure to comply with a release order. Officers describe Gonzales as five-foot-seven, with black hair, brown eyes, and a medium build, and note he is known to frequent Jane Street and Wilson Avenue.
Official Police Appeal
The Toronto Police Service has issued a public request for information about Gonzales’ whereabouts. Anyone with tips is asked to contact the police directly or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers.
Ongoing Investigation
The investigation remains active, with police continuing to seek the at-large suspect while pursuing related robbery and assault charges against both men. No further arrests have been reported.
