New M-Focused Variant Details
BMW introduced the iX3 M60 xDrive as the most performance-oriented version of its electric SUV lineup. The dual-motor all-wheel-drive system delivers a combined 603 hp and 645 lb-ft of torque, enabling a 0-to-62 mph sprint in 3.9 seconds—about one second quicker than the standard iX3 50 xDrive, which produces 463 hp and 476 lb-ft and reaches 62 mph in 4.7 seconds. Top-speed is raised to 149 mph from the standard model’s 130 mph.
Technical Upgrades and Design
BMW attributes the power increase to a new Gen6 electronically controlled synchronous motor at the rear axle, a newly developed stator, and a higher-capacity inverter. The vehicle retains the 112.2 kWh battery and 800 V architecture shared with the 50 xDrive. Exterior changes include exclusive M-design elements such as triple-segment lighting inspired by historic M stripes, an integrated M badge, and standard 21-inch M alloy wheels with an optional 22-inch aerodynamic set. Inside, the iX3 M60 offers a 17-inch central touchscreen, a 43-inch panoramic vision display, an M-sport steering wheel with dedicated physical buttons, and an optional 3-D head-up display. Standard equipment also comprises a 13-speaker Harman Kardon system with Dolby Atmos, adaptive M suspension, electronically controlled dampers, and a rear-axle M-sport differential for improved cornering.
Performance and Capability Enhancements
Beyond raw power, BMW added front-axle anti-roll-bar links, model-specific spring and damper tuning, and SAE Level 2 driver-assistance features under the BMW Symbiotic Drive suite. An optional Highway Assistant provides attentive, hands-free driving on highways up to 85 mph.
Pricing Position and Availability
While exact pricing has not been disclosed, BMW indicated the M60 will sit above the standard iX3 50 xDrive, which starts at $61,500. Prospective buyers can expect the performance variant to carry a premium relative to that baseline.
What’s Next
BMW will begin taking orders for the iX3 M60 xDrive at the end of January 2027. Final pricing and delivery timelines are expected to be announced closer to the sales launch.
