“Rebound for Life – Jerusalem” Resilience Program for Wounded Veterans

By Drooid · · How we work

Program Overview

The Jerusalem Municipality has launched “Rebound for Life – Jerusalem,” a resilience initiative aimed at IDF and security-force veterans who have sustained physical or psychological injuries. The program combines professional basketball training with social gatherings, team-building activities, lectures and other content designed to foster belonging, resilience and community reintegration. Regular practice sessions are scheduled for Fridays at 09:30 AM in the Pisgat Ze’ev Sports Arena.

Partners and Structure

The effort is a joint venture between the municipality’s Sports Department, the Hapoel Jerusalem Basketball Club and the nonprofit Win Assist (“Mesira Menatzachat”), which is led by former basketball player Afik Nissim. Coaching is provided by Rahamim Yona, while former professional players periodically join the sessions to train and play alongside participants.
