History

Historical Context

In 2007, the New England Patriots rebounded from an 0-2 start to finish a flawless 16-0 regular season, clinching the AFC East title. Led by quarterback Tom Brady, who threw for 4,806 yards, and coach Bill Belichick, the team outscored opponents by a 473-point margin. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, after a 0-4 opening, secured a 24-16 victory over the Dallas Cowboys, with rookie Jalon Daniels completing 19 of 25 passes. Both turnarounds illustrate how early-season adversity can catalyze urgency, prompting coaching adjustments that reshape playoff trajectories and fan expectations.
