History

Historical Context

In 2010 the United States and Israel deployed the Stuxnet worm, discovered on 17 June, to sabotage Iran’s Natanz uranium-enrichment centrifuges, destroying roughly one-fifth of them and infecting about 60 % of computers in Iran. The 2024 Ukrainian drone strikes on Yandex’s Kaluga and Sasovo data centers echo that precedent, showing how modern conflicts blend cyber tools with kinetic attacks on critical digital infrastructure.
