History

Historical Context

Since the Domestic Violence, Crime and Victims Act 2004 gave courts new powers to protect at-risk partners, the UK added the Home Office’s Clare’s Law, adopted on 8 March 2014, to disclose offenders’ histories. The alleged killing of GP Hannah Cain by Mark Cain in Dersingham tests those safeguards, prompting King’s Lynn Crown Court and the Royal College of General Practitioners to review doctor security protocols.
