Séjourné Backs Raw-Material Projects
- European Commission industry commissioner Stéphane Séjourné announced support for 46 strategic raw-material projects EU-wide.
- The €21 bn projects target lithium, gallium and rare-earth plants for defence and renewable use.
- Greece’s gallium plant and Finland’s Keliber lithium plant operate with €150 m European Investment Bank backing.
- States unlocked €1 bn and the European Investment Bank €660 m for projects.
- EU aims to mine 10 %, process 40 % and recycle 25 % of raw-material needs by 2030.
