Indictment of Jaclyn Alatrash

A grand jury has charged Jaclyn Alatrash, the woman Rep. Max Miller (R-Ohio) has been dating since December 2024, with grand theft, telecommunications fraud, and misuse of a credit card. The indictment stems from allegations by her ex-husband, Matthew Kampert, that Alatrash used his personal credit card to make more than $9,000 in Instacart purchases after their separation. Police records show the alleged activity occurred from September 2025 through January 2026, a period after Kampert’s marriage dissolution was finalized in February 2025.

Background on Rep. Max Miller

Miller is seeking a third term in the U.S. House. His campaign has already faced accusations from his ex-wife, Emily Moreno, who alleged physical abuse and brandishing a firearm. During a sworn deposition in a child-custody case, Miller denied ever being violent toward women and described Alatrash as “a very nice lady.” His attorney, Larry Zukerman, who also represents Alatrash in a separate matter, has not commented on the indictment.

Financial Details of the Alleged Fraud

Instacart records obtained by Mother Jones show that many deliveries were sent to Miller’s Northeast Ohio residence. Specific charges include $50.99 from Spirit Halloween, $107.31 from Ulta Beauty, $152.08 from the Vitamin Shoppe, and $207.81 from Costco, among numerous other items.

Political Repercussions and Official Responses

Miller has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing in the fraud case and has not issued a public comment. The indictment adds a new legal challenge to Miller’s re-election bid as the case proceeds through the courts.
