Historical Context

The NFL International Series launched on Oct 28 2007 when the New York Giants beat the Miami Dolphins at Wembley Stadium before roughly 84,000 fans, marking the league’s first regular-season game outside North America. Annual London games have since become a fixture, and the Philadelphia Eagles’ 2024 trip continues that expansion, while owner Jeffrey Lurie announced a $500,000 autism research grant tied to the event.
