History

Historical Context

USC’s 2024 receiver shortage mirrors past depth problems, such as the 2006 season when injuries to starters like Emmanuel Moody forced backups into action and the 2007 team relied on untested receivers yet still captured a sixth straight Pac-10 title. Those setbacks have repeatedly driven USC and Penn State to emphasize versatile backs in the 2025 recruiting push.
