Summary

CJP Demands Releases

Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) says the detentions breach constitutional freedom of movement.
A video from the plane shows female police officers confronting Abhijeet Dipke and two colleagues.
CJP demands the immediate, unconditional release of all three detained leaders.
The July protest forced Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to resign.
The movement alleges voter-list manipulation through the Election Commission’s SIR process and Form 6 registrations.

History

Historical Context

In April 2011, activist Anna Hazare began a hunger strike at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar demanding a strong Jan Lokpal anti-corruption law. The protest forced the government to form a joint drafting committee on 9 April and, after Hazare’s arrest on 16 August, about 1,300 supporters were detained. Today’s crackdown on Cockroach Janata Party leaders echoes that 2011 police response and highlights tensions over electoral reforms.
