History

Historical Context

In 1986, coach Alan Jones and captain Steve Cutler led the Wallabies to a 22-9 win at Eden Park, ending a 30-year New Zealand home-winning streak and setting the largest Australian margin there. That upset, the last Wallaby victory on that ground, resurfaces in today’s Bledisloe Cup clash as former All Blacks coach Dave Rennie and Wallabies boss Les Kiss warn of the “hoodoo.”
