History

Historical Context

In 1984, LaVell Edwards led BYU to a 13-0 season, a 24-17 Holiday Bowl win over Michigan, and the only national title earned by a non-Power-Five program. The pass-heavy “Quarterback U” produced stars like Steve Young (3,075 passing yards) and Robbie Bosco, cementing an offensive legacy. Today freshman quarterback Jaren Bachmeier inherits that dual-threat style against Iowa State.
