History

Historical Context

1998 federal investigators halted R. Kelly’s European tour after a Chicago woman claimed he had sex with a 15-year-old; the allegation stemmed from a 1996 civil suit by Tiffany Hawkins, which settled for $250,000 that year. In 2024, comedian Geordie Greep’s Vancouver show sparked similar accusations, forcing him to cancel U.S. dates and issue refunds. These cases illustrate how misconduct claims repeatedly derail live performances.
