History

Historical Context

Notre Dame’s 58-7 win over Stanford revives the dominance displayed under Lou Holtz, whose 1995 squad finished 9-3 and contributed to the Irish’s NCAA-record 43-game winning streak against Navy that began in 1964. Coach Marcus Freeman and offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock now seek to perpetuate that historic rushing strength in the modern era for the program.
