Trump Administration Launches AI-Powered America.gov Hub

America.gov Digital Hub Unveiled

The White House introduced the revamped America.gov website in September as an AI-driven single point of entry for federal information and services. Edward Coristine, a former engineer at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and now lead engineer on the project, was highlighted by President Donald Trump, who thanked him for his work on the platform.

Streamlining Access to Federal Services

Coristine emphasized that the United States maintains roughly 29,000 separate government websites, a complexity he described as “insane.” He said the new portal is intended to let citizens locate any federal information or service without navigating a “maze of bureaucratic services,” aiming to give the government a user experience comparable to that of private-sector websites that typically operate from a single, easy-to-find domain.

Digital Passport Application Plan

Among the hub’s upcoming features is a fully digital first-time passport application. Coristine explained that the current process requires in-person visits to post offices or pharmacies for photos, whereas the planned system would let users capture a photo at home, preview its appearance on the passport, and complete the entire application online without leaving America.gov.

D.C. Safety Commentary and Task Force Results

After an August 2025 assault in Washington’s Logan Circle that left him with a broken nose and concussion, Coristine publicly thanked President Trump, stating he believes the city is now safer. The Make D.C. Safe and Beautiful Task Force, created in March 2025, reported more than 16,000 arrests, 3,200 narcotics arrests, and nearly 2,000 illegal firearms seized in its first year, figures Coristine cited as evidence of declining crime.
