History

Historical Context

In 1995 the NFL added the Jacksonville Jaguars as an expansion team, and they concluded their inaugural season with a 4-12 record. Their first victory arrived on September 10, when quarterback Mark Brunell threw for 250 yards, leading a 24-21 triumph over the Buffalo Bills. Today Cam Little’s 57-yard field goal with one second left produced a 19-17 win for Jacksonville against the Philadelphia Eagles, mirroring those early clutch moments. Such finishes cement the Jaguars’ late-game reputation, prompting AFC South rivals and opponents like the Eagles to adjust clock-management and injury strategies moving forward.
