History

Historical Context

After Bud Adams’ ownership saw the Titans start 0-6 in 2009—then win five straight and watch Chris Johnson rush for 2,006 yards—the franchise rebounded under Mike Vrabel’s 2018 hiring and later Brian Callahan. In 2026, first-round quarterback Cam Ward’s team fell 26-3 to the Houston Texans, mirroring the 2009 early-season collapse.
