History

Historical Context

In 2003 the Broncos, after acquiring quarterback Jake Plummer, turned a rough start into a 10-6 finish and their first playoff berth since 2000. The franchise later posted a franchise-best 13-3 record in 2005, eliminating back-to-back champion New England before falling to Pittsburgh. Those swings have kept Denver’s front office focused on high-draft investments to avoid repeat early-season deficits.
