Apple Expands iCloud+ Benefits with New Features
By Drooid · · How we work
New Additions Overview
In the past several weeks Apple has rolled out a series of upgrades to its iCloud+ subscription service. The enhancements span HomeKit Secure Video, custom email domains, media subscriptions, and AI usage limits, all introduced without any change to the existing price tiers.
HomeKit Secure Video Upgrades
Apple’s latest iOS release adds 4K video support to HomeKit Secure Video and introduces automatically generated video descriptions, searchable clips, and a “noteworthy clips” feature that highlights important moments. The company announced these changes ahead of the launch of new Home hardware, positioning the service as a more robust home-security solution for iCloud+ subscribers.
Email and Media Enhancements
The iCloud+ offering now permits up to ten personalized email addresses per owned domain, a rise from the previous limit of three, making the service more attractive to small businesses and families. In addition, Apple has extended complimentary access to Apple TV + and Apple Arcade to subscribers in more than 100 countries, though the United States is excluded from this rollout.
Higher AI Usage Limits in iOS 27
With the unveiling of iOS 27, Apple indicated that select iCloud+ plans will receive higher usage caps for AI-driven features. The expanded limits apply to Siri’s conversational AI, new photo-editing tools, the Image Playground, and related services. Apple has not disclosed exact figures, but the company confirmed that no restrictions have been observed since the update.
Availability and Impact
All of the new capabilities are automatically enabled for existing iCloud+ and Apple One subscribers, requiring no additional payment. By bundling advanced home-security, expanded email functionality, and media content with higher AI allowances, Apple aims to increase the perceived value of iCloud+ and encourage adoption in markets where the service previously faced limited differentiation.
