History

Historical Context

The Florida–Tennessee rivalry often reshapes season fortunes: after Steve Spurrier guided the Gators to a 10-2-1 SEC championship in 1994, a 30-23 loss knocked Florida out of the AP Top 25, and a December 2001 upset erased a No. 2 ranking, a pattern echoed by the recent 38-19 loss that fell the Gators to No. 34.
