Raiders Add Former 2024 Draft Pick Jamari Thrash to Practice Squad

Move to Bolster a Struggling Receiving Unit
The Las Vegas Raiders, coming off a second consecutive loss after a 3-0 start, have signed third-year wide receiver Jamari Thrash to their practice squad.
Current Receiving Corps Landscape
The Raiders’ wide-receiver group is widely regarded as underperforming. Veteran Tre Tucker leads the unit with 19 receptions for 274 yards and one touchdown this season. Other members include veterans Tre Tucker, Jalen Nailor, Cody White and rookie Dareke Young, all of whom will compete for limited snaps. Thrash will need to earn playing time amid this crowded roster.
Jamari Thrash’s Collegiate Track Record
Thrash entered the NFL as a fifth-round pick by the Browns in the 2024 draft. At Louisville (2023) and Georgia State (2019-22), he amassed 167 catches for 2,610 yards and 18 touchdowns. His senior year earned him first-team All-Sun Belt honors in 2022, followed by second-team All-ACC recognition in 2023. He also recorded four rushing attempts for 22 yards and one rushing touchdown.
Potential Impact and Outlook
By adding Thrash, the Raiders aim to increase depth and competition at wide receiver, a position that has struggled to produce consistent production. If Thrash can translate his college productivity to the professional level, he could provide a versatile option in both the passing and occasional rushing game. However, his status on the practice squad means he must first demonstrate readiness in practice before any regular-season opportunities arise. The move reflects the Raiders’ broader effort to address early-season setbacks and improve offensive output moving forward.
