History

Historical Context

During the 1991 Gulf War Iraq fired 46 Scud missiles at Saudi Arabia between 18 January and 26 February, injuring roughly 77 civilians and killing one Saudi citizen, while a later strike on a U.S. barracks killed 28 American soldiers. The recent missile-drone attack on King Khalid International Airport revives those Scud raids, prompting Prince Abdul Aziz bin Salman to demand a strong response from the Saudi-U.S. coalition.
