History

Historical Context

Microsoft unveiled the Xbox 360 in May 2005 and launched it worldwide by December 2005, sparking huge demand and supply shortages. The 2007 launch of Halo 3, which sold over 8 million copies, demonstrated blockbuster power and led to staggered PC ports—a model Rockstar Games follows with GTA VI’s November 2026 console release and early 2027 PC launch.
