Historical Context

Operation Yewtree, launched by the Metropolitan Police in October 2012 after the posthumous exposure of Jimmy Savile, investigated historic abuse by media figures and secured high-profile convictions such as Max Clifford. The inquiry recorded 589 alleged victims, 450 linked to Savile, prompting reforms that now shape cases like the Lewes Crown Court trial of Katie Price and Kieran Hayler.
