History

Historical Context

Australia’s 1999 Test sweep in South Africa echoes a decade-long dominance that began with the historic 1994 tour—the first after apartheid—when the side won the series, followed by a 2-1 victory in the 1996-97 series and a 1-0 win in 1997-98. Players such as Allan Border and Steve Waugh set the standard that modern bowlers like Hazlewood continue to emulate.
