History

Historical Context

In 1946, after World II, India became the first postwar touring side, playing three Tests at Lord’s, Old Trafford and The Oval; England won the series 1-0 as debutant Alec Bedser claimed 22 wickets. Today Prince William’s Mall showcase, featuring England captain Joe Root and former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly, revives that diplomatic cricket tradition.
