History

Historical Context

In the 1994 Republican Revolution, Newt Gingrich’s Contract with America helped Republicans win a net 54 House seats and eight Senate seats, giving the party its first unified congressional control since 1952. Today, Donald Trump’s Wichita rally and his $5,000 cash pledge echo that strategy by promising bold incentives to swing voters, aiming to spark a similar surge ahead of the 2026 midterms.
