History

Historical Context

Arsenal’s 2005-06 campaign marked the club’s 93-year farewell to Highbury and saw them become the first London side to reach a Champions League final, where a Jens Lehmann penalty save secured a 1-0 first-leg lead before a 2-1 defeat to Barcelona on 17 May 2006. That historic run underpins today’s confidence after a 3-0 win over Lille.
