History

Historical Context

After the Boston Red Sox erased a 0-3 deficit against the New York Yankees in the 2004 ALCS—becoming the first MLB team ever to win a best-of-seven series after trailing three games—they captured their first World Series since 1918, ending an 86-year “Curse.” The victory sparked a celebratory riot in which Emerson College student Victoria Snelgrove was tragically killed.
