During the 1995 O.J. Simpson murder trial, which began on Jan 24 and ended with a not-guilty verdict on Oct 3, the case dominated U.S. media—over 100 million people watched the verdict and the courtroom was televised daily. Prosecutor Marcia Clark and defense lawyer Johnnie Cochran became household names, a spectacle that the 2024 Brand sexual-assault trial now echoes.
