The Spurs’ 1999 upset of the New York Knicks secured San Antonio’s first NBA title, sparking five championships and an 18-year run of 50-win seasons. After posting a 62-20 record and a 2026 Finals loss that mirrored 1999, Victor Wembanyama’s emergence has revived hopes again of a 2026-27 championship in the league.
