History

Historical Context

In 1982 the Milwaukee Brewers, led by team president Bud Selig, posted a 95-win season and rallied from a 0-2 deficit to defeat the California Angels in a five-game ALCS—the first championship series between two expansion clubs. After moving to the National League in 1998 and winning the 2026 NLCS, owner Mark Attanasio will present that trophy to former commissioner Selig, echoing the 1982 breakthrough.
