History

Historical Context

In 2004-05, José Mourinho’s Chelsea set Premier League defensive records with 25 clean sheets and only 15 goals conceded, their first league title in 50 years under Roman Abramovich’s ownership. The club’s recent 2-0 win over Everton, where backup keeper Mike Penders kept a clean sheet, echoes that historic focus on defence.
