History

Historical Context

The Seminoles-Hurricanes rivalry has repeatedly turned on single plays: in 1987, a one-point decision after Bowden’s failed two-point try when the teams featured a combined 60 future NFL players; in 2000 and 2004, missed field goals sealed Miami wins; and in 2001-04 quarterback Chris Rix lost five times to Miami. The latest double-overtime defeat adds to Florida State’s long-running road skid against Miami.
