The 2024 Silver Rail Elementary shooting in Oregon, where father Kaylub Giamanco killed the 16-year-old gunman, revived calls to tighten the state’s minor-gun-permission law, reflecting the “Columbine effect” that has generated over 70 copycat attacks by June 2025.
