Wyze Introduces Ultra BodyScan Plus Smart Scale with Handle Display and Expanded Health Metrics
By Drooid · · How we work
Launch Overview
Wyze released the Ultra BodyScan Plus smart scale, making it available for purchase immediately at a retail price of $149. The new model follows the original Ultra BodyScan, which launched in late 2025, and adds a retractable handle that houses a 4.3-inch full-color TFT display, positioning measurement results at eye level.
Hardware and Metric Enhancements
The Plus version relocates the customizable screen from the platform to the handle and expands the sensor array to eight smart electrodes in both the platform and handle. Using dual-frequency bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA), the scale now reports over 50 body-composition metrics—including visceral fat, protein, and basal metabolic rate—compared with the 13 metrics (weight, BMI, bone mass, body water percentage, muscle weight, etc.) measured by the prior model.
Pricing and Subscription Landscape
Wyze markets the Ultra BodyScan Plus without any monthly or annual subscription fees. By contrast, competitor Withings recently introduced a $99.50 annual subscription required to sync and access health data through third-party apps. Wyze’s pricing places the Plus model about $30 higher than the earlier Ultra BodyScan, which retailed for $119.98.
Connectivity and User Features
The scale supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or offline operation. It can automatically sync data to the Wyze app, Apple Health, Google Health, and Android Health Connect. Up to eight registered users may store personalized metrics, while an unlimited number of guests can take one-off measurements. Additional modes accommodate newborns, pets, and luggage, and the handle display shows full-body segment data and trend information without requiring a nearby smartphone.
