History

Historical Context

In the 1995 NFL season, the Green Bay Packers, led by quarterback Brett Favre, captured Super Bowl XXXI after overcoming a mid-season injury surge. The team listed 13 starters on the injured-reserve list, yet still posted a 13-3 regular-season record, the league’s best winning percentage at .813. Similarly, the 2024 Packers entered Week 6 with five questionable players, including cornerback Brandon Cisse, and endured 11 penalties that stalled offensive drives. These recurring depth challenges force head coach Matt LaFleur to rely on practice-squad rookies like David Blay Jr., echoing the franchise’s historic reliance on depth to sustain playoff aspirations.
