History

Historical Context

In the 2020 NFL season, the Cleveland Browns, led by head coach Kevin Stefanski, snapped a 26-year playoff-win drought with a 48-37 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. General manager John Dorsey had assembled a roster featuring 12 first-round picks, and the defense forced three turnovers, including a crucial strip-sack. Similarly, in 2024 coach Todd Monken’s Browns rallied from a 10-0 halftime deficit, with linebacker Carson Schwesinger’s strip leading to a tying touchdown. The pattern underscores how strategic coaching changes and opportunistic defensive plays can quickly elevate a struggling AFC North team toward postseason contention.
