History

Historical Context

In 1995 the Atlanta Braves captured the National League pennant and defeated the Cleveland Indians to win the franchise’s first World Series title in Atlanta. That season also saw the Seattle Mariners earn their inaugural postseason berth, illustrating a trend of modest-budget clubs succeeding. The Rays’ 2024 AL pennant follows the same pattern of small-market teams thriving.
