History

Historical Context

In the 2000 NFL Draft, the New England Patriots selected Tom Brady in the sixth round, 199th overall, sparking a dynasty. Coach Bill Belichick paired Brady with veteran receiver Troy Brown, and the duo helped the team post a 12-4 record and win Super Bowl XXXVI. Today's Patriots rely on rookie quarterbacks Caleb Williams and Drake Maye, yet both face injury-depleted receiving corps reminiscent of the 2000 roster’s depth challenges. If the franchise repeats the 2000 turnaround, the young QBs could convert limited weapons into playoff runs, echoing the league-changing impact of Brady’s surprise ascent.
