Shooting at a North London Pub – Core Facts

On Monday, October 19, officers were dispatched to a pub on Hertford Road in Enfield after reports of a shooting at approximately 9:30 pm. Paramedics treated a 35-year-old man for gunshot wounds, but he was pronounced dead at the scene despite the involvement of the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance. No arrests have been made, and a crime scene remains in place while investigators continue their work.

Police Investigation and Public Appeal

Detective Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo, who is leading the inquiry, said the Metropolitan Police have identified a person they would like to speak to in connection with the case. A CCTV still of the individual has been released, though the image does not clarify whether the subject is male, female, or wearing a disguise. Police are urging anyone who recognises the person, or who possesses CCTV, door-bell, dash-cam, or mobile-phone footage from the area, to contact them, emphasizing that even seemingly minor information could prove crucial.

Community Response and Safety Measures

Chief Superintendent Anna McCartney, responsible for policing in the area, acknowledged local concerns and confirmed that patrols have been increased following the incident. She affirmed the Met’s commitment to tackling gun crime and to providing answers for those affected. The victim’s family has been notified and is receiving support from specialist officers.

Ongoing Investigation Status

Forensic teams are conducting a thorough search for evidence, and detectives are carrying out door-to-door enquiries to gather additional leads. The Metropolitan Police have asked members of the public to call 101 or, if anonymity is preferred, Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 with any information that may assist the investigation.
