History

Historical Context

In the 1999 Champions League final, Manchester United overturned a 1-0 deficit in injury time, with Teddy Sheringham and Ole Gunnar Solskjær scoring to beat Bayern Munich 2-1 and complete a historic treble—the first English club to win Europe since 1984 and the first since the Heysel ban. Como’s 4-1 victory over United echoes that rare reversal of dominance.
