Cam Jurgens Traded

Ravens traded a 2027 fifth-round and a 2028 second-round pick for center Cam Jurgens.
Jurgens said the trade was a “wild process” while dealing with concussion protocol.
Veteran kicker Jake Moody rejoined the practice squad as insurance after Tyler Loop missed a Cleveland field goal.

History

Historical Context

During the Patriots’ 2008 campaign, starter Tom Brady tore his ACL in the opening game, forcing Matt Cassel to take over; the team finished 11–5 yet missed the playoffs—the first 11-win team to do so since the 12-team playoff expansion in 1990. That season’s roster shuffles echo the Ravens’ 2024 ankle-related moves involving Lamar Jackson and center Cam Jurgens.
