History

Historical Context

During the 1975-76 season Celtic failed to win any major honour for the first time since 1963-64. Manager Jock Stein’s car accident left assistant Sean Fallon in charge, and the club lost the League Cup final to Rangers, exited the Scottish Cup to Motherwell, and were eliminated 5-4 on penalties after a 1-1 draw with Sachsenring Zwickau.
